Today's post we have the 3 trains from UP's Gila Sub "Sunset Route" from June 10, 2017 with the temperature around 100 degrees. I have also added the times of arrival for those that like to see how close each train is to each other. First we have Union Pacific (UP 7877) leading a eastbound Premium Intermodal Train with 344 Axels which was the ZLAMQ-10 (Premium Intermodal-Los Angeles-Mesquite, TX) west of Casa Grande, AZ at Milepost 915 (West of CP Casa Grande (SP 918)).  The consist was UP 7877 (GE AC45CCTE), UP 7866 (GE AC45CCTE), UP 7915 (GE AC45CCTE) with DPU: UP 8698 (EMD SD70ACe). Train arrived at 2017.06.10 @ 5:38 PM.

Next we have Union Pacific (UP 7696) leading a westbound Intermodal Train with 358 Axels which was the IDULB-08 (Intermodal-Dupo, IL-Long Beach) at the same location.  The consist was the UP 7696 (GE AC45CCTE), UP 5169 (EMD SD70M) with DPU: UP 6914 (GE AC4460CW).  Train arrived at 2017.06.10 @ 6:02 PM.

Last one for tonight we have Union Pacific (UP 8838) leading a westbound Premium Intermodal Train with 364 Axels which was the ZSALC-09 (Premium Intermodal-San Antonio-LATC) at the same location.  The consist was the UP 8838 (EMD SD70AH), UP 8377 (EMD SD70ACe), UP 6330 (GE AC44CW), UP 5932 (GE AC44CWCTE). Train arrived at 2017.06.10 @ 6:15 PM.

Very NICE series Christina! Sure enjoyed the three FAST freights clipping right along with horns sounding. Nice the last two train gave you some friendly toots. It looks HOT out there!! Thanks for braving the extreme desert heat.

Thanks Larry!  Definitly been hot out there lately.  Last time was out is when we chased UP 1983 to Maricopa.  Working on the photos and videos for that chase tonight.  However going out on Sunday this weekend to grab some desert monsoon railroading!

Thanks Brian.  Usually the reason I pick this area compared to others is the Fast Freights as they have a MAX Speedlimit of 70 MPH in the area.
