My first trip to Donner pass was in February of 1998....the first time the rotaries ran during my time around the area was 2011, but unfortunately I was deployed overseas. Fast forward to 2011, I made my last trip to Donner before heading off the East Coast. My 1st Winter back I was able to head out to Donner. By shear luck the UP decided to do some testing on the week I chose to do my annual trip. Here are a few shots of the recently overhauled SPMW 207 running through Norden. I wasn't able to make it there for the WInter of 2017 but I am hoping for some good snow this year!

Very nice series. Quite a contrast to the Sonoran Desert shot you posted a while back.

I was safe from the snow (on the other side of the rails for all shots). Snow is my thing but you cannot beat the desert sunrises and sunsets!
