Western Railroad Discussion > Denver Area?Date: 08/15/17 19:17 Denver Area? Author: dal3294 Im headed out to Denver this weekend and will have an afternoon/evening to chase some trains. Wondering whether this time of year its better to go down on the joint line (even though it seems photo locations are limited?) or to go up to Cheyenne and go in between there and Laramie, a location I have visited before. Another location I have considered is Fort Colins after being told of street running there and a number of BNSF SD70MACs inhabiting the area if thats actually true?

KCS 3917 north on BNSF's Galveston, TX, to Bonneville, WY, empty sulfur train at Greenland, CO, with Pikes Peak in the distance. October 15, 2015. Date: 08/16/17 14:11 Re: Denver Area? Author: jc76 The Moffat is obviously the most spectacular option.....

Author: Odyssey If you are interested in historic railroading (Denver, South Park, and Pacific Railroad) and restoration efforts, there is an open house in Como, CO on Saturday, 8/19 running from 9am - 3:30pm. Como is about hour's or so drive west of the Denver metro area on US 285 ... roughly 15 miles or so east of Fairplay. There are recent Trainorders posts on the Western Railroads and Steam Railroading Discussion Boards covering the Como event plus details on restoration efforts and the recent addition of a renovated 2-6-2 Baldwin steam locomotive to the Como railroad scene
