EMD Demo's head into Denver
Author: SP8595

This morning EMDX 1601 and 1602 led an Eastbound loaded coal train into Denver down the Moffat Tunnel line. The train made record time traveling between Grand Jct. and Denver and I barely beat it to Rocky siding due to having to fight through Denver's rush hour traffic:{
Thanks for the tip "wesleygreer":}

1) Heading over the East switch at Rocky, the pair of Demo's are in light dynamic braking holding back 105 coal cars that are destined for Paducah, KY.
The cars in the upper right background are the wind break protection on the "Big Ten" curve.

2) The pair of EMD SD70AH's.

3) Unfortunately the Sun angle was pretty nosey at the big fill just West of Leyden but the train was lined into the siding and so far has been parked at Leyden for over 2 hours!

Great catches! Thanks for sharing. I caught the 1607 & 1608 demos on the Joint Line a few weeks ago. Does anyone know how many of these demos are out there?

VERY well done, that location for 1 and 2 was perfect! And bah-humbug on the traffic - it took me 2 hours to get home today!
~wko - that's an average of 35 mph, not bad for 58 miles of 75 mph interstate driving

Thanks for sharing a really nice looking trio. Nice color in all three, but the last is the best IMO.
