Simple SP/WP Question
Author: BoilingMan

I'm programing a scanner, but I'm away from my library 'o info...

In Nevada, on the Overland Route paired track, which is Track 1 and which is Track 2? Is the former SP Track 1, or is it the other way around?
Thanks
SR

Former SP is Track 1, primarily used for westbounds. I think channel 9696.

Former WP is Track 2, primarily used for eastbounds. I think channel 2424.

I agree with jmf.  I have channel 9696 on Track 1 as 161.550 from Ocala MP 320 to Ogden.  That leaves channel 7878 160.280 from Ocala to Vista east of Sparks.  Channel 2424 on Track 2 as 160.470 from Gerlach MP 437 to Smelter, UT, near Garfield where it joins the LA&SL.

Nope, 9696 is no longer in use between Weso and Moor, NV on Main 1 as of last year, so 2424 on both mains of the paired track between Weso and Alazon and east to Moor where Dispatcher 6 takes over and the channel reverts back to 9696 to Ogden. I know, it doesn't make any sense, but that's the UP for you. Shafter Sub (WP) is still 2424 to Lakepoint, UT.

Correction:
Channel 7878 is 161.280. There is a "1" before the decimal point, not a "0".

FWIW, both tracks are now signaled for movement in either direction on either track.

Yes, CBS or "Poor Man's CTC" is what I've heard it referred to as.

Thanks, all
I had the freq's, but wasn't sure which track was which (1&2) and wanted to name them SP and WP on my radio.
