Old School Power on the UP Main Line
Author: TexBob

The first nice cool day of this fall in the Houston area coincided with a day off, so I was out and about
most of the day catching what was running in my neck of the woods along UP's Glidden sub.

Highlight of the day was the 2 AEGLI 15 with some OG power in the form of two 1994
vintage C44-9W's, UP 9785 and UP 9613 (ex-SP 8149!).

First shot is splitting the old tri-colors at the west switch of Harlem (CP SA030), last 2 shots
are 18 miles east at West Junction (CP SA012)

Nice catch on the power, dig that signal, the vine covered pole and all of the boxcars!

Nice shots. Like the old school look on the older GE's versus the new crap

Boxcars are popular in Mexico. As I recall ,UP has constructed and recently opened a cleaning facility in Eagle Pass for Boxcars going into Mexico for loading. Mexican beer producers are extensive users of Boxcars for their US exports.
