Western Railroad Discussion > Capitol Corridor ReflectionsDate: 11/14/17 09:09 Capitol Corridor Reflections Author: jimB Wonderful late Fall Sunday in the Bay Area, 65 degrees and calm with some nice clouds, allowing for smooth water at the Southern end of the SF Bay at Alviso. I was able to combine my daily walk with Capitol #732, and an F59PHi instead of the hoped for Charger. A well placed jet contrail was a nice addition.
The 49ers were just had just kicked off about 2 miles South. #732 had stopped at Great America, adjacent to the stadium. Normally you can hear the crowd from Alviso, but I don't think the 49ers are drawing too much of a crowd this year! Jim B Date: 11/14/17 09:19 Re: Capitol Corridor Reflections Author: atsf121 Nice

Cheers, Jack Date: 11/14/17 10:15 Re: Capitol Corridor Reflections Author: SPDRGWfan Pretty.
Cheers, Jim Date: 11/14/17 11:03 Re: Capitol Corridor Reflections Author: jmf1910 Perfection, Jim! I've found late fall to be the best time for Alviso reflections with the southern sun and the cooler, still air.

SR An unusual consist too. 4 car Capitols usually have one of Oakland's two Surfliner type cafes (6300's), but this one seems to have a CA Cafe (8800's) in the Car 2 spot behind the loco. This too, is unusual- in all my years working the CC as an LSA I think my car was in a position other than Car 3 two or three times. It's a Spare the Air message. This isn't a very sharp image but sort of shows it. Thanks for the kind responses. Jim B Date: 11/15/17 10:48 Re: Capitol Corridor Reflections Author: NFO Congrats on IOTD, Jim.

Rare to have crisp visibility with calm waters out there. I remember more than a decade ago where local transit agencies were promoting free rides during Spare the Air days, and I took advantage of them.
