Western Railroad Discussion > Just in case you haven't gotten your fill of 1943 threadsDate: 11/18/17 23:43 Just in case you haven't gotten your fill of 1943 threads Author: suvart I too was amongst the swarms of people taking pictures of UP 1943 on the Sunset route today. However, in an attempt to try to avoid much of the horde and get a different angle I went to Cabazon. By the time 1943 got there the sun was behind the hills and my camera was dead, but I got some decent shots of intermodals prior to it's arrival.
Image 1: 1943 blows through a CP on the approach to the Salton Sea. Image 2: A UP intermodal rounds Cabazon Image 3: A different UP intermodal with a recently repainted dash 9 rounds Cabazon. Image 5: An example of what almost every grade crossing and CP looked like. Video is pacing 1943 along the Salton Sea and then it rounding Cabazon Edited 1 time(s). UP 2010 (Boy Scouts) and UP 7400 (Breast Cancer) are both GEVOs. Date: 11/19/17 20:22 Re: Just in case you haven't gotten your fill of 1943 threads Author: cchan006 tracklight Wrote:

Those GEVOs are still Armour Yellow, so they can't hide their Union Pacific identity. UP 7964 (5000th GEVO) simply surrendered and became vanilla Armour Yellow! EMDs, on the other hand are not Armour Yellow: UP 2001, 2002 (Olympic blue), and all the EMD Heritage Units (1982, 1983, 1988, 1989, 1995, 1996) aren't Armour Yellow either. UP 1943 continues that pattern. |
