Western Railroad Discussion > Mostly Yellow From Around Central Kansas

Union Pacific yellow that is! But, between a recent power crunch and a large amount of repainted units running around, it hasn't been that boring. So, here is a sampling of a little bit of UP everywhere around central Kansas in the last month.

1) We start off on the Kansas & Oklahoma at Pawnee Rock where UP 6586 and CN 2625 sit with a loaded windmill train.
2) Now at Whiteside on the Golden State Route we see UP 1995 blasting off after meeting a eastbound empty concrete tie train.
3) Moving north to the KP, UP 8626 rolls along at the 40 MPH speed limit as it approaches Wilson.

4) The elevators at Wilson rise in the background as UP 7837 pushes on the rear at Wilson.
5) Back to the GSR UP 4730 and an SD60M lead another stack train towards Herington at Inman.
6) UP 7965 has a roll on it's autorack train as it passes one of the few remaining Rock Island block signals near Medora.

7) Back to the K&O at McPherson WAMX 4218 rolls west out of town towards Conway.
8) UP 6960 rips apart Canton, KS as it highballs west with the KG4LB 08. Straight out of the 90's the consist has an AC6044CW, C44-9W, and yet another C44-9W!
9) In downtown Hutchinson, the UP 6880 rolls the GEE4AR 07 past the depot and local power resting for the weekend.

Luke, truly a nice series with some cool photos. Nice to see that one can get such good locations and not have to deal with scorched paint and flags. Super consist at Canton. Thanks for showing your work.
