Western Railroad Discussion > UP Yuba River Bridge RepairsDate: 03/24/18 22:06 UP Yuba River Bridge Repairs Author: ble692 The Union Pacific's Valley Subdivision bridge over the Yuba River in Marysville, CA has had a section drop down about 30 inches. This same bridge had a similar problem in February 2017. I don't see any news reports about the problem, but posts on Facebook from several Yuba County Supervisors are keeping tabs on the problem at hand. The picture here is from one of those Facebook posts. I'd imagine the Sac Sub will be busy between Binney Jct and Haggin until the issue is resolved.
KOVR 13 in Sacramento did a story about the bridge. http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2018/03/26/crews-work-to-fix-sagging-marysville-train-trestle/ Edited 2 time(s). Maybe they should evacuate everybody downstream... Date: 03/25/18 12:26 Re: UP Yuba River Bridge Repairs Author: spwolfmtn Good thing there's a bypass route! Another good reason to not rip up redundancy too quickly...
