Western Railroad Discussion > Winter's BluffDate: 04/19/18 18:51 Winter's Bluff Author: rrartist Old man Winter threw another punch yesterday afternoon with yet another 7 inch snowfall, so you all know what that meant... Starting in Dresbach MN with CP 288, CP 9810. Then south of La Crosse (WI) where the real beauty awaited. Looking like a Christmas Card setting with everything nicely coated with snow, BNSF 3959 leads the H BRCNTW into town with the Z CHCSSE slow rolling behind it with the BNSF 4298 leading.
Date: 04/19/18 18:55 Re: Winter's Bluff Author: rrartist Here is the bluff next to the Goose Island County Park grade crossing, thus the title "Winter's Bluff". BNSF 7154 leads the Z SSECHC towards Chicago on this fast warming late Winter morning. CP 6256/5108 lead CP H20 past the Amtrak Depot. That clean CP Red sure stands out!
Date: 04/19/18 19:01 Re: Winter's Bluff Author: rrartist CP Road Switch G72 has three GP38s all in a different CP paint scheme which again looked outstanding in the fast melting snow. I think the temps reached the high 40s with 65 predicted by Sunday! BNSF 6172 charges out of La Crosse with the Z PTLCHC and lastly, the H LAWBRC rumbles past my house behind the BNSF 8031. The old saying "if you don't like the weather, give it 24 hours" certainly played true yesterday to today, I called "Winter's Bluff".
