In BC. Switching, they will end up shoving up that hill. Running around their train at the end of the BC shortline. Date: 04/21/18 10:49 Re: Kettle Falls Author: P I was just looking into these lines after spending a week north of the border. Good to see plenty of traffic on these lines. Looks pretty sparse up there.
Great photos, BTW. Could serve as a nice basis for a TRAINS magazine article on the lines..... Date: 04/21/18 11:30 Re: Kettle Falls Author: CA_Sou_MA_Agent Great photos of a beautiful region that receives little coverage.

The line to Nelson is only alive for approx. seven miles from Columbia Gardens to Fruitvale, BC. It is run by the Nelson Fort Sheppard Railway, which is owned by Atco Wood Products. It interchanges with the KFR in Columbia Gardens two to three times per week. From Fruitvale to Nelson, the right of way is now a bike trail. Just a year or two ago, you couldn't get three units together with the same paint scheme. Even now, it isn't all that common. |
