An Englishman and his American Girlfriend in the Midwest - FINALE
Author: 37176

That's all the Railfanning photos from the April trip posted in parts 1 through 6 (96 images). Here are some photos myself and my partner Aimee took while on the road. She flew in from Portland to Omaha to meet me and we spent five days doing photoshoots in all sorts of weird places. Here are the railroad shots...

Image 97: BNSF 910, long stored next to an industrial park near Murray Yard, Kansas City, provides a backdrop here.

Image 98: Taken on the abandoned bridge over the Missouri River near Sante Fe Junction in Kansas City

Last two. Promise.

Image 99: Missouri Valley, Iowa. Waiting for the bells to chime.

Image 100: The final shot in this series. Aimee says hello in her own special way to the crew of this BNSF train entering Murray Yard in Kansas City. I would have loved to see their faces.

Thank you all.

Image 98 is the Kansas River, an old Rock Island bridge for the RI to get in and out of the West Bottoms.

Oops. Forgot that. Here you go. Mount Vernon, Iowa. I found this tree when I was walking for two miles after getting my car stuck in a ditch. The local college kids throw their shoes up there. There were thousands of shoes in the field.

Interesting trip. I followed in your footsteps with some of the locations, now typing this at beastly Eastleigh, with 66783 the Flying Dustman in sight.

One of the joys of rural springtime railfanning. Happened to me once, but in Kansas along the Santa Fe.
Thanks for posting all the pix from your trip.
