It Finally Leads!!!
Author: funnelfan

For two months or more, NS 1072 has been coming and going from the PNW on various grain trains, always buried in the consist. So when word came down that it was finally in the lead, the railfans came out in droves over the past three days to capture it. I caught it in Cheney and was extremely lucky that the sun popped out at the last second.

I prefer the term "blessed". So Ted you were very blessed to get the sun for this shot. Ever since Ed and I spotted this NS heritage unit on Marias in mid-April, I have been fascinated that NS hasn't re-claimed their heritage unit for their own territory (to the joy of Northwest fan).

I've caught the 1072 several times around the back yard, but missed it on the point. Very NICE shot Ted!

Yet before I updated its’ location as Tacoma yesterday on HeritageUnits.com, nobody posted anything about it on T.O. or anywhere else, since it went through Whitefish, MT. Is there some other heritage unit sight I should be keeping an eye on?
