Western Railroad Discussion > Gateway to the Flint Hills of Kansas Drone Video!Date: 06/16/18 19:36 Gateway to the Flint Hills of Kansas Drone Video! Author: docgrommesh Here is a short video I put together today as a continuation from the earlier post this morning.
The wind was blowing so hard the sound didn't come out at all so I put some music with it instead. I usually don't fly in this kind of wind especially at 400 feet. It is always windy here so I just said to hell with it at the end of the video. :) Enjoy the View!!! Doc You must be a registered subscriber to watch videos. Join Today! It was a nice blue ski with a great sun angle for sure. When it is green out there it to me is just amazing. It was also nice to get the CP power with the BNSF to give it a little more variety. Thanks again for the wonderful comment, Doc Date: 06/16/18 21:27 Re: Gateway to the Flint Hills of Kansas Drone Video! Author: UP951West A beautiful video !! Please keep them coming from the Flint Hills of Kansas ...my old stomping grounds on sunny weekends in the 1990's. I'd like to see a Z train from your drone. --Kelly

I will have to get a little something together for you. Doc Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 06/17/18 08:59 by docgrommesh. Date: 06/17/18 09:09 Re: Gateway to the Flint Hills of Kansas Drone Video! I plan to do so in a short Documentary video I am desperately trying to find time to make. Doc Date: 06/17/18 15:31 Re: Gateway to the Flint Hills of Kansas Drone Video! Question for those in the area since it has been a few years since I've been out that way. Is there much traffic moves east over the Emporia Sub between Mulvane and Ellinor these days? I know that the majority of eastbound traffic on the Transcon runs through Wichita and Newton, but I had the impression that BNSF still runs a few eastbound Z trains via Augusta and El Dorado. Thank you so much! If the traffic is slow they will run some of the Eastbounds on the El Dorado route. I am going to guess most of the slow orders always go thru Wichita. I have witnessed slow orders that are Westbounds also take the Wichita route. Not sure the frequency because as we all know the Transcon is usually ever not busy. Also remember that the Douglas Sub will also have Northbounds getting on in Augusta which in turn makes them Eastbounds on the Transcon. Thanks again for the compliment on the video.
