I notice that the new U.P. locomotives have the gray short hood. daaaa.......When did UP drop the green? Thanks.

And you can tell GE wide-nose engines that have been repainted by UP from those that are still in factory paint by how much gray is on top of the nose; the factory painted locos have nose tops that are all or mostly yellow. Compare the lead two locomotives of photo 7 in this thread:
