Western Railroad Discussion > Two Rare Birds with One ShotDate: 07/11/18 10:00 Two Rare Birds with One Shot Author: spider1319 An actual working caboose ,not a riding platform and a trip on one of just a few UP branches left in the Pacific Northwest.Last month I guessed a trip to Pilot Rock and lucked out.The Pilot Rock Branch has one customer left, Kinzua or Boise Cascade at Pilot Rock. Service is very sproradic and infrequent with the branch being in and out of service of late. The first view is the Local returning to the main cab hop.The second image is further close to the junction and the last picture is at Rieth where the main and branch meet.Bill Webb

I always love taking "the back way" through Echo and along the Umatilla River when I pass through that area. It's been awhile. Hopmere Hank Date: 07/11/18 17:12 Re: Two Rare Birds with One Shot Author: pummer Yes, that is quite a catch!
