BN Green in Bakersfield
Author: tronarail

This probably belongs in the "nothing to see here folks, move along" department, but today I went to the BNSF yard here in Bakersfield parking in a vacant lot at the end of "F" Street south of Truxtun Avenue. This lot was once the location of the Santa Fe Cafe, but since I don't get downtown often, I have no idea when the structure was razed. Anyway, I was watching this long switching job shuffling cars back and forth when he finally started shoving back into the yard. On the point of the 2-engine job was BN #1466 an SD70M according to the stencil. The other was a blue and yellow GP60 (I think) with #118.

That would be SD60M.

I remember the Santa Fe Cafe but don't know when it disappeared...
