It was another hot smoky day in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Lakeside Sub with unhealthy air. The high-low is 90-53 so far. Warmer the next couple of days. Traffic was fairly steady in the afternoon with a three hour lull in the morning. The Loram grinder arrived this morning in the backyard and is tied up for now. Here are some of the trains from today and several from yesterday.

8/13/2018

1. EB 345pm manifest train with BNSF Orange Blast of 7 units on the point.
2. WB 358pm grain train with BNSF 7825-8082 on the pull with DPU's.
3. EB 512pm manifest train with BNSF 7236 on the very point of 6 units with DPU's and a friendly toot-toot from the hogger.

4.BNSF H1 1010 in the head-end mix of same train.
5. Warbonnet 708 in the head-end mix of same train.
6. DPU's BNSF 4511 and CREX 1345 on same manifest train.

7. WB 530pm "Z" train with BNSF 8268-5268, Warbonnet 759 and BNSF 9354 on the point.

Smoke from the approx 600 fires burning in British Columbia is causing problems in Alberta ...
For Americans, that would be like smoke from fires in Washington state causing problems in central Montana.

We have a similar blanket of smoke in the Puget Sound area.  Not pleasant.  I haven't heard from where it's coming from.

Larry - In a wierd way I think 15-16 have real artistic merit.
