No offense but, how many "years" have we been hearing that? And, what expenses were, or will be incurred for transporting (Heber Valley Railroad is "land-locked") and then repainting/refurbishing etc, and maintaining these Geeps, that could have been directed to the restoration of 618? For what it's worth, their ridership has been increasing steadily over the last few years, and their former UP GP9 is performing very well. The two "new" B&M GP9s will help spread the work load on their current diesels. Although work continues on the 618, it must be pointed out that the majority of their riders don't really care whether a steam locomotive is pulling their train or not. From there they'll be pulled off the tracks, loaded onto trucks and taken the remainder few miles to their final(?) resting place in Heber.
