Seeing the first photo, I thought it was a joke website since the engine is missing.  

Now if they can design one that will breathe in bad air, and then expel clean air, then they’ll be onto something.

The caption states the Locomotive is waiting it’s prime mover! A picture doesn’t always tell the whole story.

The UP 1000 has been seen in the City Yard in Roseville doing some testing. I'm not sure if it's still there or if it's staying in Roseville.

I bet at least some of the engineers and technicians will like that one better.  No computer screens to decipher.  No electronic sensors that stop working for no reason (like on my car!).

UPY 1000 was sitting outside the Roseville diesel shop yesterday morning. Not sure if they were doing training with it or getting it set up for service or something else.

I wish it still looked like that (actually, as Sacramento Northern 607 it wasn't bad either), but the NSRM folks at Boulder City decided it was better to paint it blue and letter it for their own "Nevada Southern Railroad." 
Still better than going to scrap...

I've seen much worse livery. And you're right better than fall victim to the torch.
