My son has transferred to California, so my once-a-month trips from Omaha to Wisconsin are suspended for the time being. My preferred route was along US Route 30, where I could swing in a watch a train or two while avoiding I80.

I like the area east of Marshalltown the best. Here's a sequence from just west of Montour IA (home of Rubes Steak House for the hungry among you.). ZSCG1 meets a WB unit sand train in this series.
