Part 2: https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,4672659 Sunday’s sunrise was cold (30F), but calm. I learned that hand warmers make excellent heaters for drone batteries, too! Photo 1: The crane lifts a light/genset combo out of the way. The new concrete bridge decks are in place. Photo 2: A southward view of the new bridge deck. 2 more… Edited 1 time(s). Photo 4: pointing south, but looking down from an altitude of 90 meters. this is when I discovered the white balance on the camera was still set to "cloudy." Sigh. HH Edited 1 time(s). Is the crew working on that bridge P&W crews or an outside contractor? I know they had an outside contractor for the clean-up.

Oops...I had intended to mention that Hamilton Construction looks to be the bridge contractor here. HH Date: 11/18/18 21:33 Re: P+W Derailment, Part 3 Author: Railbaron Thank you. I was wondering if the bridge rebuilding was "in house" or not.
Although it's been over 20 years since I ran a train to Toledo, as I remember there were only a couple of pre-stressed concrete bridges on that branch. Although bad to loose any bridge it's a shame to lose one of the few concrete ones. Of course losing one of the wooden ones would have probably taken longer to re-open the line as with this bridge the support structure was evidently undamaged. I would imagine (but don't know) that most of it will be salvaged after the line is open again. I'm betting it goes via truck; those slopes are pretty steep! Whoever gets that task will most likely be doing it in the rain! HH Date: 11/18/18 22:16 Re: P+W Derailment, Part 3 Author: roustabout Thanks for posting all your pictures. Albany yard is full of cars and I imagine that Toledo and McMinnville have their share of loads sitting around. From the looks of things, it should be open pretty soon, in fact I heard Tuesday.
