The mini-hump there owe's it's longevity because the yard itself is on a 1% grade, something that would make flat switching hard and full of safty hazards. There is a fantastic brewery (Holy Mountain) with a tasting room right on the yard. It is fun to enjoy a nice beer and watch the trains roll by.
