BNSF Stack Trains on the Northern Transcon.
Author: commissioner

Delvalrailfan's post about intermodals got me thinking, What's the difference between the stack trains between Chicago and Seattle-Tacoma such as ( I might be forgetting 1 or 2):
S CHCSEA
S CHCTAC
S LPCSEA
S LPCSEP
S LPCTAC
S SEACHC
S SEALPC
S SEPLPC
S TACCHC
S TACLPC
S TCBCHC
S TCBLPC
S TCELPC
S TCPLPC

Is there any wat to tell just by looking at the containers? Thanks in advance!

The TCE, TCB, TCP and like are all different docks on the Tacoma Tide Flats, The S-TACLPC and counter part is often a mix of vehicles and stack traffic.

SEP’s come off of pier 18 I think. Cars are spotted on the pier. When I worked over there the security wanted to drive right in front of the engine as we pulled through and spotted the cars. No matter how much we complained they kept on doing it. The TM after watching this fool told us that if we hit the idiot he wouldn’t go after us.

I'm guessing the only difference may be in the power setup, as seen below with S-trains on the Southern Transcon:
