Western Railroad Discussion > CP Holiday Train at Kansas City Union StationDate: 12/03/18 22:45 CP Holiday Train at Kansas City Union Station Author: bnsfsd70 This evening, I took off to Kansas City Union Station to photograph the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train that came in behind the CP 2246. This was my first time seeing this train, and it was really quite impressive! If you ever get a chance to see it, make sure to find a way to do so. Thanks to everyone at CP for helping to make this happen!

A really nice image ... CP's train appears to be a class act ... wonder why the US Class 1's can't share a little Christmas Joy in such a fashion? You definitely have the night shoot under control! Ronda Thomas Date: 12/04/18 06:09 Re: CP Holiday Train at Kansas City Union Station Author: kevink Most excellent! CP has done a great job with this tradition. Despite the rain on Sunday, there were good crowds at the Illinois stops and plenty of civilian onlookers at each of the places I stopped to take photos.

Nice shot there Jeff. MILW86A Date: 12/04/18 10:12 Re: CP Holiday Train at Kansas City Union Station Author: TamaquaTim Great shot of a Great Train. I wish CP and NS could find a way to work together to bring that train
back to Scranton, Pa next year. It would be great to see it again. Tim McRea Date: 12/04/18 10:58 Re: CP Holiday Train at Kansas City Union Station Author: SP8595 Fantastic shot!

That's a lot of work. Many RR's do a couple of cars and an engine, but I can't even see the entire train. Nice job.
What kind of tour does it do? Local stops, just runs around, just wondering. Mike ONeill Parker, CO Date: 12/05/18 13:58 Re: CP Holiday Train at Kansas City Union Station Author: bnsfsd70 What do you mean? ;-) KCS runs Rudy up and down the line every year!

You can see the schedule here: https://www.cpr.ca/holiday-train/schedule-united-states

It was rather chilly up there, but I'd say that the results were well worth it.
Lance, regarding the sign, I completely agree! It was so sad to take night shots there the last few years while it was dark. That thing is such a nice photo prop, and a Kansas City icon. - Jeff Carlson santafe199 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Wow, the CP went the extra mile on this!
