Valleyman Date: 12/07/18 08:05 Re: Was UP 4141 ever used in revenue service? Author: Lackawanna484 Thanks for the pictures.
I didn't get a reply to my question elsewhere about how much time / miles / engine hours the 4141 has compared to its sister units delivered in the same order. I would guess it's a lot less. Date: 12/07/18 08:23 Re: Was UP 4141 ever used in revenue service? Author: SCAX3401 It make it to Northern California at least once. I was driving north on California Route 99 around the Merced area and went passed a southbound manifest with the 4141 as the second DPU on the rear. I didn't know it was going to be there nor was I in the position to get a photo or chase it. It was the only time I ever saw it in person. It was shortly after my encounter that it was stored at North Little Rock.

Reportedly, the unit will have its major internal components removed and then donated to, and placed on display at, the Bush Presidential Library, in College Station, Texas. 1. West Colton. 2. El Casco. —Michael Date: 12/08/18 09:47 Re: Was UP 4141 ever used in revenue service? Author: TexasEagle77 I saw the 4141 on a southbound freight here in Austin at Sneed siding along MoPac Hwy during the Houston Meltdown. The freight was stuck in the hole over labor day weekend and possibly longer making the 4141 a sitting duck. Someone painted 666 across the flag in the back on the fireman's side. I think that incident is at least in part what lead them the UP in hiding it at the North Little Rock shops. I know I took pictures but cannot find them now.
Ricky Austin, Texas Date: 12/08/18 10:55 Re: Was UP 4141 ever used in revenue service? Author: NebraskaZephyr The 4141 paid a visit to Illinois Railway Museum on May 19, 2008 pulling an Operation Lifesaver special on the Belvidere Sub out of Rockford, IL. They stopped at the Museum for a barbeque lunch before returning to Rockford.
