I don't know much about PTC but did UP 9096 do all the things related to PTC then? Date: 12/13/18 05:04 Re: Today's UP 4141 Move Author: JasonCNW On Facebook someone mentioned this unit will be heading east across Iowa today. Can anyone confirm?

It is used on nearly all the engineering specials as well as other officer trains. It is used as an exercise car.

The train ran PTC exempt, perfectly acceptable until the end of the year. Date: 12/13/18 11:00 Re: Today's UP 4141 Move Author: MP683 PTC isn’t required until the end of the year.
You can still run without if the unit is not equipped. CCS territory still requires a CCS leader. Most mainline engines are PTC equipped these days. Date: 12/13/18 11:44 Re: Today's UP 4141 Move Author: calsubd Excellent photo's papio !!, Thank You

I've been seeing PTC arrays on everything for the past 2-3 years, so it just looked 'off' to have a loco without one! |
