Today's UP 4141 Move
Author: papio

The UP 4141 display in Omaha ended at noon today and the locomotive and baggage car made their way to UP's Heritage Shops in Council Bluffs IA.The move involved a couple of backing movements for the consist, so two Geeps were used for those segments. There was a fair number of people out to witness the move.

Will these two pieces be donated to the presidential library or some other museum, some time in the future?

Hmm. Didn't notice that UP 4141 doesn't have a PTC Array.
I don't know much about PTC but did UP 9096 do all the things related to PTC then?

On Facebook someone mentioned this unit will be heading east across Iowa today. Can anyone confirm?

I don’t believe the baggage car will be donated.  It is used on nearly all the engineering specials as well as other officer trains.  It is used as an exercise car.

The train ran PTC exempt, perfectly acceptable until the end of the year.

PTC isn’t required until the end of the year.

You can still run without if the unit is not equipped. CCS territory still requires a CCS leader.

Most mainline engines are PTC equipped these days.

Thanks to those who replied.
I've been seeing PTC arrays on everything for the past 2-3 years, so it just looked 'off' to have a loco without one!
