A train running east (rather than west as above) could end up in Chanute, KS as well, but those don’t usually return over this routing. and why does it > use BNSF trackage rights? A way shorter route as opposed to running north out of Lost Springs to Herington, and then east to Topeka, and west to Salina. Also, one crew can take it from Wichita to Salina on this routing, as opposed to 3 on the aforementioned routing. Hope this helps mg8711 Date: 01/09/19 19:29 Re: UP coal empty over the Smoky Hill Author: SouthWestRailCams Nice Shot Lance! Love the reflection in the water, pops out train and the scenery!
