Los Angles County fire is responding to a train on fire call in Santa Clarita. First responding units report confirmed with smoke and fire showing.

Further details as they become available.

It appears this is a freight train, per Metrolink twitter feed. Metrolink is setting up a bus bridge.

12:54 PST
Appears to be a GE leader on a UP freight that caught fire. UP 7892

It was a locomotive electrical fire.  It tied up things for a few hours.

It was the ZLCLT. The dynamic brake grids caught on fire on one of the trailing units. The train is still stuck on Metrolink somewhere.

3rd motor was dead with bad batteries, held waiting for a jump start. Eventually left Lang at 2115hrs, close to 6 or 7 hours late.
