Western Railroad Discussion > Northeast ArkansasDate: 01/17/19 12:09 Northeast Arkansas Author: endmrw UP southbound unit train (suspect a potash train going to Helena for offload to barge on the Mississippi River). power 1X2. As the train entered town I was okay with one motor. Then seeing it as a unit train .... empties??? Wait a minute there has to be power on the rear. Sure was, 2 motors on rear......black smoke as they were pushing that train southbound, highball. Is this common for 1 lead and 2 in rear? endmrw0117191407
Date: 01/17/19 18:18 Re: Northeast Arkansas Author: Ritzville I also on 1/10/2019 took a picture of a 1x2 grain train with the DPU's smoking with the push. I have that picture right below your post. A 1x2 is not that common in Ritzville, WA, but does happen at times.
