Western Railroad Discussion > UP 4141/1943 in KC AND Passenger Special to NM

This afternoon, I was able to catch a pair of interesting things on the UP in eastern Kansas.

Photo 1: On my way to KC, I photographed the UP 2743 leading a westbound passenger special through Grantville, KS, just east of Topeka. This was the PCBSI1 09, which was headed towards the ex-RI "Golden State Route," and eventually New Mexico.

Photo 2: After a stop at Doc's Caboose, I photographed UP's ACes #1943 and #4141 on display in RI's ex-Armourdale Yard in Kansas City, KS. These two have been touring the system together since the 4141 led President George H.W. Bush's funeral train.

Nice Shots!  The passenger special from my understanding will be in Tucson on Monday.  According to the Text Message I got yesterday, "The Executives are to "evaluate" cuts in the Tucson Yard. They are also going to be dealing with Ferromex to do some of the switch work at the border towns so when they cross the border they don't need additional switching."
