Wedgies Wedgies Wedgies on the Sunset Route

Back in January had a drive up the 111 from Niland to Indio with plans to stop and shoot the parade as it went by. Things started well with a westbound in Niland, and then nothing... just nothing, until we found a crewless stack in Thermal. From there the floodgates opened up with six eastbounds in half an hour. In fact they were coming so fast we couldn't even get trackside for a couple despite being on a road that ran right along the tracks.

Got lots of wedgies.

Imge one is an extra stack from Dallas about to cross English road east of Niland.

Image two is of the stopped stacks in Thermal with an Englewood manifest passing them.

Image three is a rack repo splitting the Vaders in Coachella.

Image four is a racks and stacks, also in Coachella.

Image five is just another ragged looking SD70M, this one in nice light in Indio.

Nice pictures of the Yuma Sub. Image #2 looks another long pool train that bit the dust on hours of service which happens multiple times everyday.

They are from Dolores to Yuma. Away from home terminal is Yuma, AZ.

Did you notice the numbers on two of the SD70m.
Only ten numbers apart. UP4723 and 4733.
Interesting photos all the same.
