Western Railroad Discussion > UP 1983 on the Siskiyou (warning multiple shots of 1 train)

I saw UP 1983 sitting in the Eugene yard yesterday (backlit of course) at the point of a train and took some pictures.

1. OMG it's startiing to move - and it is the CORP train heading south to Roseburg!

2. Oh no it stopped!

3. OMG it's moving again!  Oh no it stopped before I could get a shot with the river in the background.  It got permission to go back into the Judkins siding to pick up a long string of cars.  This will be a long train.

4. Here it is on the move around a basalt dike heading south out of town (again).

It's a great looking paint scheme, nice catch with the pretty clouds. Summer time it would be hidden by the foliage.

Wow, luck with the railroad, and the weather!

Not trying to change the subject, but I thought that UP was going to stop providing power for the CORP trains?

Didn't realize UP power went over the Hill into Medford. 

I guess the railroads patched things up and CORP is able to still use UP power between Eugene and Roseburg.  The CORP units take over to take the train south and the UP units pull the loaded trains back to Eugene.  Wish I was able to go further south but had to work.  Given the switching they do on the way, the next good spot was likely a couple of hours off.
