Western Railroad Discussion > No Two Alike on the Port LocalDate: 05/14/19 20:38 No Two Alike on the Port Local Author: BNSF-6432 I only bagged one train today after finally deciding to get out after work for a little bit of time. It happened to be 467; the Port of Catoosa local returning to Tulsa. Power seems to change pretty constantly which always makes for a nice catch and sound. Today was a mix of everything featuring an SD40, SD75M, GP60M, GP60B, and a B40W. I wasn't able to catch them before the sun fell but at least it wasn't totally dark. I chased them west to Tiger but made the mistake of assuming they'd get a light through the siding and into town. As I should have known that wasn't the case. They spent the rest of the evening and dusk hours waiting for the city job to clear and an eastbound freight to leave. So I was left to settle with some shady shots as they came through Catoosa, OK.
1) BNSF 1995 leads this 90's looking consist around the curve at the Catoosa, OK MoW shed. 2) A wider view with just some spots of sunlight shining. 3) A passing shot revealing BNSF 509 on the east end, a unit that's been assigned to Tulsa for quite some time. Taken 5/14/19 in Catoosa, OK PQM Date: 05/14/19 20:47 Re: No Two Alike on the Port Local Author: SCKP187 Nice stuff. Hard to beat the different models of power on this local. Back in the BN days this local had BN 3800 ? or BN 3600?--- a standard cab unit only all the windows were painted black and it was for B unit operation only.

It was still passing by here this evening when you took these shots. They turned the consist at the port this afternoon, BNSF 1995 was leading both ways. I'm hoping 509 leads tomorrow.

They were coming back with 86 cars of mostly steel loads and have to make a 1% grade between Catoosa and Tiger. Thanks, I was wondering if you were able to see them from the depot. I'd like to get them coming back in better light soon before they switch it up. PQM Posted from Android |
