Western Railroad Discussion > UP Nampa Sub - EB Empty Grain TrainDate: 05/17/19 09:02 UP Nampa Sub - EB Empty Grain Train Author: philhoov I caught this empty EB grain train at Medbury Hill, Idaho earlier this week.
Led by UP #8100, this train was on the downhill slide from Reverse, about 7 miles west of Hammett, Idaho and about 15 miles east of Mountain Home, Idaho. The crew saw me standing on my windy hilltop perch and gave me a nice horn salute while passing under the signals. Phil Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 05/17/19 10:04 by philhoov. Date: 05/17/19 09:06 Re: UP Nampa Sub - Medbury Hill Cement Train Author: spwolfmtn Looks like a grain train with mostly UP grain cars, so probably a grain empty.
Glad to see the old style UP signals still standing there, at least for the time being. Date: 05/17/19 09:42 Re: UP Nampa Sub - Medbury Hill Cement Train Author: E25 Nice location choice.

The hoppers appeared to be short; thus my speculation on them being cement hoppers. Phil Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/17/19 12:45 by philhoov. Date: 05/17/19 09:47 Re: UP Nampa Sub - Medbury Hill Cement Train Author: florida581 The train was GSKAGE-12 (grain shuttle Kalama, WA - Solomon, KS).
Andrew Date: 05/17/19 10:03 Re: UP Nampa Sub - Medbury Hill Cement Train Author: philhoov Thanks for the symbol info.
I have edited my post. Phil Date: 05/17/19 20:26 Re: UP Nampa Sub - EB Empty Grain Train Author: SCKP187 Nice photos. Will be handed off to KYLE at Solomon KS for a grain facility most likely at Downs KS.
