Western Railroad Discussion > Spring color at Sullivan’s Curve

With all the rain we have had recently, Cajon Pass is more colorful than I can remember. Yesterday we finally had a sunny weekend morning, at least for an hour or so before the clouds arrived, so I spent that time at Sullivan’s Curve. As you will see the trains were average looking but I tried to get some of the color in before it all turns to brown.

1) Just as I arrived, westbound BNSF 5270 had only two head end units so I hurried around the curve, knowing it would have rear DP’s.

2) Bringing up the rear was 5545 and 5012.

3) Next was an eastbound led by BNSF 7886.

4) BNSF 5265 followed using main track 2.

5) One last eastbound stack train with BNSF 7408 leading.

6) A few purple wildflowers on the way out.

All photos taken Saturday 5/18 between 7 and 8AM, thanks for looking.

Thanks Tim, I don't know my flowers that well but there was lots of it near the north switch at Canyon.

No, not lupine but I'm not sure what it is...

Cool shots Bob! I think the flowers are a native penstemon.
