Santa lives on the Cimarron Valley RR
Author: stlrailfan

The Cimarron Valley RR in Satana KS is reviving this old Santa Fe paint scheme with a new fleet of General Electric engines coming to the railroad. CVR operates on former Santa Fe track in Kansas and Eastern Colorado and currently uses a fleet of GP30's , GP26's , SD50's and 1 B39-8. They are getting 7 GE's from GECX/LTEX all being ex CSX. Attached photo is of C40-8 # 4053 ( ex GECX # 9050 , ex CSX 7616 ) fresh from paint at Metro East Industries in East St Louis, IL on May 16th 2019. Taken and posted with both CVR and MEI permission.

Its amazing how much thought went into some of the older schemes--railroady schemes, not generic clip art, that appears on BNSF and Amtrak units.  That unit represents the old Santa Fe well.  I like it!

Now if they will or can get the other six painted, it will be great.

Did you mean 'Santa Fe' lives on the CVR or was it a Christmas present from Santa ?

This is FAR from being new, same as a car being rebuilt it does not go back to 0. Probably sold them with some kind of maintenance agrement.

More than likely yes since they run SD60’s.
