Western Railroad Discussion > UP 1111 & 4141 to Kansas City

Earlier today, Union Pacific's M-NLKC was running towards Kansas City with a pair of intersting units in tow; the new "Powered by Our People" unit, and the George HW Bush unit.  Neither of these engines were actually running, but given free time and sunlight (even if backlit), but given that A: I enjoy new stuff, and B: the 4141's time out on the road is limited at this point, it was worth getting out for.

First up, I stopped off in Paola, KS and shot the train running over the ex-MP bridge by the police station.  It's hard to see here, but the Buzzsaw logo's remnants are still visible on the bridge.

Further north up the line, I caught the train near Bucyrus, KS, where it met a pair of southbounds that were waiting for it in the siding.

Finally, we wrapped up our chase in south suburban Kansas City in the town of Martin City, MO.  As soon as the train rolled by, we stopped in for a few brews at Martin City Brewing, which is just behind me in these shots.

If I knew what time it was coming thru town, would have went and ate at Jess and Jim's out on the patio trackside.

It finally got on the move at Martin City around 3:30 in the afternoon.  That patio sure looks to be nice, but we opted for MC Brewing instead.
