First off, take a peek at the newest enhancement at 582, west side. Call it the West Lookout. 

Second, before the Eastbound went by, decided to do a slow pull back from the amazingness that Hill 582 really is, before diving into the feature.

Thanks for the photos & video.  Helps me get motivated to visit Hill 582. 
Could I get an update on the rules/conditions:
(1) legal to park along 138?
(2) I don't mind walking in, but is it safe to park along the highway?
(3) ok for a regular car to drive in if necessary?
(4) Forest Service pass required?

Here's the Google Street View as you're approaching the turnoff on Highway 138-  https://goo.gl/maps/85WKGWkvFmjnCcD76  That's not the same view as before the 138 rebuild.  You can see the only tree around on top of Hill 582.

That gate would make me a bit nervous. I noticed the other nearby gates are locked.
Has anyone ever seen it closed?
