Western Railroad Discussion > Photo-editing a commuter skyDate: 06/09/19 08:13 Photo-editing a commuter sky Author: santafe199 It was one of “those times” where ya just have to smile and bite the bullet. While attending the Santa Fe convention last summer in the Chicago burbs I was able to get some good trackside camera time. But the weather gods must have been feeling extra-frisky. On the bright, sunny afternoon of 15 July nearly every time a train showed up it brought some friendly clouds along. Not to worry: We mere mortal shutterbugs now have photo-editing capability. So the sting of getting cloud-skunked isn’t quite so sharp as it used to be…
1. METRA 8554 leads an eastbound commuter train @ 6:32 PM, with… 2. …METRA 188 providing the departing push @ 6:33 PM. 3. At the same minute AMTK 4622 is westbound over across the way. 4. Another 15 minutes of mostly sunshine prevailed right up until BNSF 7445 passed through with an eastbound intermodal @ 6:49 PM. Oh well, it woulda been back-lit anyhow… (4 photos taken in Naperville, IL on July 15, 2018) Thanks (but NO thanks) for meteorological education!
