Western Railroad Discussion > Tank cars question on Washington & Idaho RRDate: 06/09/19 19:25 Tank cars question on Washington & Idaho RR Author: zaltwsp7 Hi, South of Spokane, WA where US hwy 195 crosses over the Washington & Idaho RR is a small yard with several long blocks of tank cars. My question is are they there for storage? As I don't know of any tank car customers in the immediate vicinity. I don't have photos of the placards but I'm thinking maybe oil tank cars?
Thank you. -Andy Date: 06/09/19 20:01 Re: Tank cars question on Washington & Idaho RR Author: SantaFeRuss They look like Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Tankcars.

When salt cavern storage runs out, you leave it on a railcar and then unload it in the fall when you can blend again.
