It was a warm sunny day in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Lakeside Sub with a high-low of 82-49. Extreme heat on the way, UGH! Here are some of the trains from today and the last couple of days on the busy BNSF.

6/8/2019

1. EB 301pm manifest train with BNSF 5289-5246-5153 on the point with DPU.
2. WB 317pm grain train with BNSF 3866-H1 982 on the pull with DPU's.
3. WB 329pm grain train with BNSF 3773-6090-6727 on the point with DPU and a friendly toot-toot from the hogger.

4. WB 349pm oil train with BNSF 3790-5161 on the pull with DPU's.
5. WB 444pm garbage/manifest train with BNSF 5333-4723 on the point with no DPU.
6. WB 608pm oil train with BNSF 7103-5041 on the pull with DPU.

7. EB 708pm manifest train with BNSF 5109-H1 996-1039-7006 on the point with no DPU.

Bill, the garbage trains run from Spokane to Roosevelt, WA and back on the Columbia River to a garbage processing area.

Thanks Larry-I knew about Roosevelt and the west Cascades garbage. I didn’t know Spokane was shipping there as well.

Spokane sends the trash to Roosevelt to be dealt with like the westside of the state, but in a lot more infrequent usage...    It's been a while since I have see and garbage/manifest go by me, though I would hate to have it temperature hot when it rolls by...    Whew weeeee!!!!!

SP8100, I get several garbage/manifest trains a week lately. I hear they also haul ash besides garbage. When I'm at Bauman Rd. I can sure smell it, lol.
