Oh, you're gonna put the red & silver one on the point of the O-train?OK.For all of the business trains that I've seen around Topeka over the years, this is the first one that I've ever seen go out on the road with something other than an orange unit on it. Supposedly it was running down to Emporia, and then back east to Logistics Park KC.

Here, the first two photos were taken in Topeka, KS, while the third was taken just south of Carbondale on the Topeka Sub.

Oh I don't know. I nominate Santa Fe FP45 108 at the Orange Empire Railroad Museum (aka Southern California Railroad Museum).

BNSF needs a new red/silver warbonnet T4 with red swoosh symbols on the sides...   A touch of the all-time classic scheme with the newer modern logo.

Where did they ever find that pristine warbonnet?  Must have been kept undercover somewhere in Topeka away from elements and artists. Way to go, BNSF!   (This is a wonderful contrast to the awful publicity UP has been getting lately.)

That unit has to have been recently repainted. NO former ATSF unit running around for 24 years (since the merger) could remain looking that good.

More detective work required.

Art, this is NOT a former ATSF unit.  This was in the last group of GE's painted "Warbonnet", 4719 the last one, delivered to BNSF.  I believe the last unit painted "Warbonnet" at the factory
was SD75M 8301, but can be corrected on that.  The 700 series and 4700 series paint has held up much better than the 500/600 series paint.  Evan Werkema has provided
an explanation of this somewhere on TO, but I can't provide a link.

The black (or BNSF dark green?) pilot and plow give the warbonnet an interesting look.

some paint was warranted and redone, but the 4700 class  have held up well
