Western Railroad Discussion > 3 points!Date: 06/11/19 18:01 3 points! Author: z-trains Westbound UP AGBML splits the goal posts at West Palm Springs, CA on December 8, 2018. Over the past 50 years, the San Gorgonio Pass in Southern California has become a center for the development of wind dependent energy generation as evidenced by the forest of windmills on its east slope. Fortunately, this area is also host to the ex-SP Sunset Route, which begins its steep climb out of the low desert just east of here. In this image, a single SD70ACe and a DPU slowly wind their way upgrade with a loaded autorack train headed for Mira Loma, CA where Union Pacific operates an auto transfer facility. Thanks for looking!
