Western Railroad Discussion > railfanning with Mike and IkeDate: 06/15/19 11:42 railfanning with Mike and Ike Author: z-trains A couple of years back, BNSF treated the SoCal railfans with multiple new sets of power coming from the then-GE plant at Alliance, TX. Here is the last set of them to find their way out to SoCal, BNSF Tier IV GEVOs 3758 and 3759. These two factory fresh units conveniently led a westbound port train, SALTLHA (Alliance, TX to Los Angeles Harbor), past the iconic Mike and Ike rock formations that loom over Sullivan's Curve in late June 2017. With the rush to rebuild locomotives, scenes like this have sadly not been repeated since.
