Western Railroad Discussion > NS 4005 in OK todayDate: 07/09/19 16:25 NS 4005 in OK today Author: MP4093 A nice heads-up from TO members Bill Gillfillan and Patrick McGee netted NS 4005 on the Q-AUGLAC running by my depot in Catoosa this morning. In the second shot you see Bill's faithful steed parked at the depot as we lensed the train. NS 4005 is a DC to AC conversion by NS into a unique AC44C6M, it was leading NS 8052 and 9977, WB at MP 408.8 on the Cherokee Sub, BNSF. Thanks guys. I like it when all I have to do is step outside, take the shot and retreat back into the AC on a sweltering day like this.

------------------------------------------------------- "What is appx. train count on the Cherokee Sub?" Thanks. Randy Lundgren Elgin, TX Randy it varies with day of the week, but an average of around 40 a day. I have seen a 53 train count on one day and recent flooding had it down to 2, the anhydrous plant local out and back for a few days, but usually it is pretty steady. The mix of intermodal, unit grain, coal, steel, vehicles and stone, plus merchandise and locals make for a nice variety of traffic and the dispatcher likes to fleet them at the right time of day. Good fishing hole. Marc Montray Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 07/10/19 07:41 by MP4093.
