Beat to hell
Author: The-late-EMD

The u.p. 9992 a Gp40-2 is presently assigned to Ozol yard. She needs a paint job and her rear markers are missing but the old girl is still earning her keep in uncle Pete’s empire. Plus she had a pretty lady hogger bossing her around today.

UP 9992 is former WP 3558 so she's not far from home. Very few locomotives ever had markers but 3558 was delivered with classification lights. Most have been removed by now. Not unusual to see them blanked out with steel plates.

The steel marker lights plates was missing so you see the light bulb in the housing. The girl hogger was not only pretty but she drives her personal care like Danica patrick. And finally I still can't figure out how to download pictures here. Also the motor has been assigned to the ozol/Pittsburg local for atleast a week. So it's there for anybody to shoot. And as for the lady hogger she was either a trainee or off the extra board because that is a high seniority job. She couldn't been more then 30.

UP 9992 is still has the Jenks shop UP block lettering, AFAIK.  maybe the last UP unit with this lettering.  Are there any other ex-WP GP-40's left numbered in the 99xx series?   All the other UP GP40's  are in the 1400-1500 series AFAIK.

Dear Mr. "The-Lste_EMD",

Locomotives don't have "marker lights". They have never had "marker lights". Might you be referring to class lights?
