Nice series Don. I read today that BNSF has opened their new intermodel ramp at Barstow. One reason is that San Berdo is at capacity.

is that the same mt. vernon viaduct that existed in the 40's and 50's? it was falling apart then, like most things in san berdoo.

About 15 years ago while photographing at the San Bernardino Station I was kicked out by a security guard.  Do they now allow railfans to take photos there?

Funny, in the nineties Barstow paved (or graveled) over receiving track ten in the yard and used it for an intermodal loading/unloading track. Nice bunch.

Any where around the old passengeer station the County of San Bernardino transportion commission is in charge and several security folks around.

You could expect to be kicked out.
