The only other SD45 currently active on MRL is the 355 and it's been working with an SD40-2XR on the Bozeman Turn out of Laurel recently. The other two SD45s on the roster, 351 and 382 are currently stored. Serviceable. ------------------------------------------------------- > Does the MRL still use searchlight signals, or have them been replaced?? From what I saw of the MRL in May, they are still there from the west end of Livingston going west over Bozeman Pass to the west end of Manhattan. Several recent threads covered some examples of these. Others may exist outside this area but someone else would have to confirm. https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,4831775,4831775#msg-4831775 https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,4821332,4821332#msg-4821332 Edited 2 time(s). I put in 12 hours on a GP30 last night, makes switching cars enjoyable!

They just removed from service the searchlights at West Missoula and Desmet recently and replaced them with the new stuff on single masts. The old NP signal bridges and cantilevers involved are still up with the signals turned to the field.
Also, two weeks ago, they started on the CTC island for extending the siding at Dixon on the Tenth Sub (Evaro line). The rest of that line is still non-block-TWC. Dave in Missoula Edited 1 time(s).
